My Sister, the Serial Killer – Oyinkan Braithwaite
It’s a rare quality to find a book that states the novel’s plot in the title but that’s what, My Sister, the Serial Killer is about.
What is it about?
Korede is a nurse in a hospital in Lagos, Nigeria and her beautiful, carefree younger sister, Ayoola, who is a Fashion Influencer has the bad habit of murdering the men she dates.
After her latest parmaour is murdered at Ayoola’s hands, Korede has to come help shift the body and clean Femi, the man who was murdered’s apartment.
Unfortunately, Femi’s family decide to take his dissapearance online, and this could ruin everything for Korede and Ayoola who hide a painful past.
Korede is also in love with Tade, the Doctor at the hospital where she works, but one day when Ayoola comes to visit her, Tade ends up being charmed and now Korede is worried that her murderous little sibling may have found her next victim.
The book flits between the past and the present, and you understand why the sisters are the way they are and why Korede does what she can to cover up Ayoola’s misdeeds.
Would I recommend it?
Very much so!
This was a short, enjoyable read and has a great cast of characters and situation and begs the question, what would you do if your sibling was a serial killer?
