The Life Diet: How to let in what makes you happy, and let go of everything else – Laura Jane Williams (Audio Book Review)
We all loved Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and the subsequent Netflix TV show, but do you wish for a real, down to earth version written by someone who gets it?
Someone who gets life in their 20s and all the messy parts of wanting to look good, save money and maintain relationships but without the BS?
Laura Jane Williams (by now a friend of the blog given how many books I’ve read from her!) has written just that and entitled it, The Life Diet.

Now don’t let the title put you off, this is a really great read but an even better listen and best enjoyed in Audio format.
According to Laura, think of this as a 2-hour long podcast.
What is it about?
Think of it as Marie Kondo on speed.
The Life Diet shares how to curate your life.
It starts with your belongings, then your clothes, money, culture, relationships and thoughts.
It’s not a long book and can be digested or as I prefer to do inhale in one go but you can also go back and listen to chapters in more depth and use it as a springboard to inspire change.
What Works in this Book
This book is short, snappy and actionable.
Much like Marie Kondo’s book, it has things the reader can do immediately and start to feel more in control of their life.
What Doesn’t Work in this Book
As with Laura’s book, Becoming, I think there’s very little that doesn’t work in this book.
It’s not overly long, it’s actionable and it’s like having a conversation with a friend, you know the one.
The one who always leaves you feeling on top of the world!
Would I recommend it?
If you’re in need of something short and sweet that can start you on the path of self-love then this is a great book.
I would highly recommend The Life Diet by Laura Jane Williams!
